During this year’s activities themed, ‘My European Union’, participating children will have the opportunity to learn more about what constitutes the European Union, its founding values, its culture and what identifies us as European citizens. Such information is intended to help the children familiarise themselves with the European Union and how its motto, ‘United in Diversity’ can be put into practice.

Through the use of various interactive media, children will be able to understand better the meaning of the motto of the EU – United in Diversity. They will also be guided on how to put the motto in practice and how to be active EU citizens by living the EU values in their everyday life.

At the end of each session, thanks to the EU Law and Publications office, participating children are given ‘Let’s Explore Europe’ – a colourful publication that recounts Europe’s story. They are also giving a paper hen to test each other’s knowledge on the EU in a fun manner.

Additionally, EDIC Valletta and MEUSAC are also providing each child with a reusable, washable facemask in a bid to promote the use of sustainable products.

In all, 25 sessions in Malta and 7 sessions in Gozo will be organised for different SkolaSajf centres in the coming 6 weeks. The sessions in Gozo will be carried out in collaboration with Europe Direct Victoria, Gozo.

SkolaSajf is run by the Foundation for Educational Services within the Ministry for Education and Employment.
