Europe Direct Valletta participates in festival

Europe Direct Valletta participated in Science in the City festival held in Valletta on 28 September, by means of its EU Corner. From interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities to exhibitions, the festival helped unleash everyone’s inner scientist. This year’s theme revolved around culture as we celebrate the European Capital of Culture and the European Year of Cultural Heritage. Our EU Corner offered something for all ages, from an EU quiz and other fun games to the dissemination of EU-related info material, including on EU funding. We also had goodie bags for those who visited our stand and participated in our educational games.

This year we teamed up with entities which benefited from EU funds for restoration and conservation works of national cultural heritage monuments, R&I and other projects, in a bid to showcase their works at the EU Corner where visitors are able to experience how research and science are applied.

The set-up is showcasing projects such as ‘Fostering Water-Agriculture Research and Innovation in Malta' (FOWARIM)’, and a hands-on activity from the Restoration Directorate.
