MEUSAC has launched a publication titled ‘EU Funds for Local Councils’ which is meant to serve as a funding opportunities guide for local councils. The publication is funded by Europe Direct Valletta, which is hosted by MEUSAC. The venue of the launch, It-Tunnara Museum in Mellieħa, formerly the Westreme Battery, is about to undergo restoration works after the council benefited from EU funds as a result of MEUSAC’s assistance in the application process. The battery, once used as a storage facility for fishermen to store their tuna fishing nets and other fishing equipment, will be turned into an interactive centre. Parliamentary Secretary for European Funds and Social Dialogue Aaron Farrugia, Parliamentary Secretary Silvio Parnis, MEUSAC Head Vanni Xuereb and the town’s mayor John Buttigieg addressed those present.
