The European Commission has appointed MEUSAC as one of three entities that will be hosting the EUROPE DIRECT Information Centres (EDIC) in Malta.
MEUSAC will be hosting Europe Direct Valletta, the Institute for European Studies – University of Malta will be hosting Europe Direct University while The Gozo Business Chamber will be responsible for Europe Direct Gozo. The three entities will host the centres for the next three years.
These three centres will form part of some 450 walk-in centres around the whole of Europe that make up the Europe Direct Network.
The launch of the three EDIC centres in Malta was held on February 12, 2018 at the European Commission representation office in Valletta. The conference was addressed by the Head of the European Commission Representation in Malta Dr Elena Grech.
One of MEUSAC’s roles is to provide information on EU Policy and Legislation, so the fact that it will now be hosting EDIC will enhance MEUSAC’s EU-related information services. MEUSAC also assists NGOs, local councils and Government entities in applying for EU funds and is also tasked with instigating the current debate on the future of Europe on a national level.
The EDIC contact points are there to answer your questions on EU-related affairs such as citizens’ rights and funding, to give you the opportunity to participate in EU information and networking events, and to provide sources to other EU-related information, among others.
